Medical care in Mahone Bay.
Our Mahone Bay clinic (Bluenose Health Plus) offers direct access* to physiotherapy services in addition to nurse practitioner-led primary care. Early on we recognised that there was a need to strengthen the link between primary care services and the care provided in private physiotherapy clinics. As a matter of good health, we believe in coordinated care and access to the right healthcare professional at the right time.
If you need to restore, maintain, or maximize your function, the Bluenose Plus Primary Care Clinic can help. You don’t need a referral to access our physiotherapy services (although some insurance companies still require this; check with your provider). If you have a private insurance plan, we direct bill to most insurance companies for reimbursement of our fees.
Access to our physiotherapy services does NOT require a monthly membership fee. However, if you are already a Bluenose Health member, you will receive timely access to your NP for medical services that might be identified during your physiotherapy visit (e.g. blood work, x-rays, referrals to specialists). Your care will be coordinated within our team to ensure that all your healthcare needs will be met in a timely fashion.
We provide one-on-one assessments and treatments of a variety of acute and chronic conditions including arthritis, athletic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, pre- and post-surgical rehab and education (e.g., joint replacements, tendon repairs), low back pain, and gym-based fitness programs to improve personal health and wellness. We use a hands-on, tailored, active treatment approach. Your health and wellness goals are our goals.
Our physiotherapy services and fee schedule are accessible online.
