Bluenose Health is a subscription-based, nurse practitioner-led clinic providing accessible, inclusive primary care for you and your family. We're located on Young Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and offer our subscribers personalized, patient-centred medical care by appointment, 
​in-person and via telephone, with easy telephone booking.

We're here to help you manage your healthcare needs: chronic health issues; mental health challenges; medical administrative items (services like prescription refills and treatment for non-life threatening health concerns); gender affirmation services and support; and minor surgeries.

Our services.

Bluenose Health bridges the gap in primary health care services currently being experienced around our province. While we cannot address urgent or life-threatening concerns, issues that can be addressed include: 

• Cough, flu, or cold symptoms, and minor respiratory issues 
• Prescription refills or renewals 
• Unusual but mild issues such as strains/sprains, headaches, ear aches and sore throat
• Minor infections, including skin and eye irritations
• Gender affirmation services and specialties
• Minor surgeries and joint injections

NEW! Tuesdays from 4 to 8 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 12 noon, we will be offering a limited number of Walk-In Clinic spots by appointment for $79 for members and $129 for non-members, per visit. ​

📢 Great news! You do not have to be a Bluenose Health subscriber to access our specialty services, including the following:

Gender-affirming specialties:

⚧️ Hormone replacement therapy - initiation and maintenance 
✉️ Letters for surgical readiness and aftercare (top and bottom surgery)
🆒 Referral to counsellors for supportive therapy, if needed
✅ All other primary heath care needs required by the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities including but not limited to STI testing and treatment; smoking cessation; mental health issues or concerns (depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders)
