Cryotherapy can be used very successfully for a variety of lesions and works by rapidly freezing tissue cells which then thaw, causing the disintegration of those cells. Lesions treatable with cryotherapy can include different forms of keratoses; warts; lentigines (flat brown lesions which do not darken following sun exposure); skin tags; and superficial spreading basal cell carcinoma.
Joint injections
In addition to minor surgeries, other common procedures include therapeutic injections for a variety of conditions, providing safe and effective reduction of pain and inflammation. The healthcare providers at Bluenose Health can inject medications directly into a patient's joints to reduce pain and swelling, and to increase range of motion. The benefit of joint injections can be experienced within a few days and relief can last for months.
Injections can be made for relief in the knee, shoulder, elbow, ankle and other areas of the body experiencing pain from conditions such as arthritis, gout, haemorrhage, and to relieve pain in a grossly swollen joint. Other conditions that may see relief from joint injection include: |
